Did y’all hear that Starbucks brought the Pumpkin Spice latte back early this year?!?
My roommate along with the rest of the country (according to all the celebrations I saw on social media) rejoiced in the return of their favorite limited time offering! And that got me thinking about all the other delicious fall flavors, recipes, and treats that I savor this time of year.
It’s so fleeting and we should savor every moment.
We should stop and just be present in the moment as we crack the oven door and the smell of cinnamon and clove assault our senses.
It’s the culinary version of a cozy bear hug.
So, here are a few of my fall favorites from some of my “friends” on the web:
What is it about quick breads that screams fall?
Well, I don’t know and frankly I don’t care, I just get excited about baking, and more importantly eating, all the flavorful varieties.
Classic Pumpkin Bread from My Baking Addiction
Cinnamon Spiced Applesauce Bread from Averie Cooks
And finally Olive Oil Carrot Cake Bread from The Girl in the Little Red Kitchen
So warm, earthy, and inviting.
The other dish I get extremely excited about this time of year is Chili! It is the king of all soups & stews as far as I am concerned.
And while my mom’s easy beef chili with beans & corn may never be topped (cuz it’s my mama’s), these are certainly contenders.
Slow Cooker Vegan Black Bean Chili from Vegan in the Freezer
And this White Christmas Chili from an old issue of Southern Living is seriously THE. BEST. STUFF. We eat it all fall & winter long & it is a must for us on Christmas day while we are being lazy in our PJs.
Fall is synonymous with 2 of my favorite vegetables- butternut squash & sweet potatoes. So much you can do with these versatile veggies! And that vibrant orange hue screams fall, even though I enjoy them year round.
Twice Baked Sweet Potatoes from Lauren’s Latest with an unforgettable brown sugar walnut topping
Duchess Sweet Potatoes from Add a Pinch. So impressive!
Very Easy Roasted Butternut Squash Soup from Kitchenist. A fall diet staple.
And of course, there will be dessert. Can’t forget about the most important meal of the day!
There is something so warm & comforting about crumbles, crisps, and cobblers.
And I have turned to this Tenntucky Blackberry Cobbler more times than I can count.
So, so simple and delicious! Everyone always loves it.
But, this Chocolate Cobbler also cannot be missed!
Southern Chocolate Cobbler from Add a Pinch
Fall is delicious.
So, what are some of your fall faves?
