Take Him at His Word.

I love God’s Word.

I love that it is the same today as it will be tomorrow and as it was 100 or even 1000 years ago!

I love that it is living, active, sharper than any two-edged sword and that it is able to pierce even the toughest of hardened hearts and speak to every man, woman, child.

I love its relevance.

I love the feel of flipping the papery thin pages reading truth after truth, guarding my heart against evil.

I pray that no matter what life brings you and me, that HE brings us back here. To His word. To His promises. To His truth.

bible 2

Do we take Him at His Word? Do we really rest in and believe His truths we see & read?

Do we really, really believe the Scriptures?

He has challenged me on this of late. Challenged me to believe. To trust. To take Him at His Word.

In the very same breath, I can tell a friend I have full trust and reliance on God in a certain situation in my life and then turn around and start worrying and agonizing over the situation.

That is not faith.

That is fear.

It’s not simply enough to believe in God. You have to believe God. Take Him at His Word.

His promises are great, and many.

“Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires.” — Psalms 37:4

“The blameless spend their days under the LORD’s care, and their inheritance will endure forever.” — Psalms 37:18

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity.” — Jeremiah 29: 11-14

“Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” — Matthew 11:28-29

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:19

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” — II Corinthians 12:9

“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” — Philippians 1:6

Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.” — John 20:29

Take Him at His Word. His word is good. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Love to you dear ones,
