Favorite Things | Stocking-stuffer Edition

It’s that time of year again…

Time to hang the stockings.

Trim the tree.

Stoke the fire.

Pour the hot cider.

And sing fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la like there is no tomorrow!

It’s Christmastime in the city, and I for one, cannot wait.

As a family this year, we agreed to do only stocking stuffers on Christmas morning. You see, we enjoy experiences so much more than gifts, so we are going on a trip 2 weeks prior to Christmas and only exchanging stockings. So, each item has to be small, compact, and fit in our stockings. I cannot wait to go through mine and watch Mom & Dad’s expressions as they dig through theirs.

So in honor of that, our new family tradition, here we go- a listing of some of my favorite items to give and receive all small & compact enough to fit in a stocking!

Maybe it will give you a little inspiration as well?!?

Assorted Calendars from Paper Source

I always love receiving a calendar at the end of one year as you start dreaming and planning for the next… and Paper Source has some beautiful ones to plan, do, dream, or doodle on!

2015-2016 Paper Source Chalkboard Calendar

2016 Garance Dore Wall Calendar

2016 Rifle Paper Co. Cities Calendar

Valerie Weiner’s Art

I have hosted a Valerie Weiner’s Art custom print giveaway here on the blog before, so my adoration is obvious and it has not abated. She does beautiful work for her Savior!

But, these Bible Journaling print sets are just totally adorable!

They are 2×2 inches and the perfect thing to tape into a prayer journal, stick on the corner of a mirror to remind yourself or loved ones of truth each morning, or simply to add to an outgoing notecard or birthday card you are sending. You will so love these tiny prints!

Harney & Sons Assorted Tea Tins

Not only are the contents absolutely delicious for the tea-lover, but the tins itself are like collectibles to me! Adorable way to arrange flowers for an open house, shower, or party or for cute kitchen storage.

Favorites? Paris, Cranberry Autumn, Celebration, Early Grey Supreme, & Diamond Jubilee.

Garden Jar, $20 per jar or $54 for 3 Jar set {also one of Oprah’s Favorite Things from her 2015 List}

Not even claiming a “black thumb” rather than a green one can disrupt the success of this product! All us black thumbs rejoice!

This is a self-watering herb kit is in a beautiful vintage-inspired Mason Jar and all you have to do is supply some water and a sunny windowsill. The water and other nutrients are brought to the plant’s roots in a process known as “wicking” thereby avoiding under or overwatering syndromes. Comes in a variety of herbs, but my personal favorites are always going to be Basil and Parsley.  Two incredibly versatile herbs for cooking or baking.

Judith Bright Sandalwoods, assorted

I probably wear these pieces of my jewelry more than any others. So easy to wear, easy to stack, fun to play with and mix n match with other pieces. I absolutely love them!

NARS Dual-Intensity Eye Shadow, in Dione for $29

All the shades are absolutely stunning, but something about this metallic gold shimmering olive green shade spoke to me and is absolutely perfect layered over some of my existing shadow shades.

These dual-intensity eye shadow shades can be applied wet or dry for varying degrees of intensity and are easily blendable and go on incredibly smooth.

Essie Nail Colors, Limited Ed. Mini Collection from Kohl’s, $15

Get into the holiday spirit with this ultra-festive mini collection from my favorite Nail Color brand, Essie. Includes 5 gorgeous, head-turning shades including my 2 seasonal crushes, Bahama Mama and Smokin’ Hot.

Assorted Cold Weather AccessoriesAnthropologie

And when it gets really cold out, it’s time to break out those coveted cold weather accessories!

I love a good Pom Beanie.

Sidonie Pom Beanie

So cute and festive.

Gleaming Luray Gloves

And these gloves?

Perfectly lovely & ladylike.

Hobo Handbags, Clutches & Wallets

My love of Hobo is truly never-ending. Luxurious leather handbags, clutches, and wallets that the more they are used and loved, the better the leather looks. Truthfully. They are amazing and I carry one just about every single day.

Here are a few of my faves that will fit perfectly right down in a stocking.

The Lauren Clutch, $128

The Classic Sadie Wallet, $108

The Sable Wristlet, $98 {I own this wristlet and absolutely love it.}

The Amoret Wristlet, $88

And there is more great gift-giving ideas to come, including my favorite Hostess and Housewarming gifts for all the holiday soirees you have been invited to.

Yep, they are always the hardest ones aren’t they?!? This year daddy is getting an Anker Power Charger than can charge his ipad and iphone at same time, some golf balls, a little sugar free candy, and some house shoes/mocassins that Mom got from JCrew. They are lined with fleece and have a really sturdy sole on them for him to wear inside or outside. We also started giving him Dollar Shave Club razors and replacement blades + shaving balm 2 Christmases ago and we put them in his stocking every year now. It’s a great value for a man that likes a really nice shave and it’s the gift that keeps giving all year long. Hope that gives some inspiration!
