Touring the College Football Hall of Fame

Last week, I had the opportunity to tour the brand spankin’ new College Football Hall of Fame facilities that recently relocated to Atlanta, GA from its former home in South Bend, IN. It was a 68 million dollar undertaking and is over 94,000 square feet of fabulous, fun, and interactive College Football mecca.

Entering the Chick-fil-A Fan Experience was unreal! This entire space is completely devoted to creating a remarkable experience for the college football enthusiast.

I was in heaven!

Filled with row after row of interactive stations where you can call a memorable play in your franchise history, be the guest picker on the set of College Gameday with Desmond & Chris, or ask questions to a life-sized Peyton Manning or Doug Flutie.

And with every digital activity you complete, your memory card stores and saves all of it! So, later, in the privacy of your own home, you can log in with your access code on the back of your lariat and have full access to all you did that day. And after you have watched and enjoyed, you can even share it on various forms of digital media.

Your friends will be so impressed by how natural you appeared at the news desk rubbing elbows with the ESPN professionals.

We held a staff meeting onsite at the facilities the day prior to its grand opening to the public, and the excitement was palpable.

It didn’t hurt that it was also the week prior to kick off!

So, as you enter, you register your fan lariat and give some basic info: name, email, and team of choice. Once registered, your team’s helmet will light up on this massive helmet wall.

There are 776 college football helmets represented on this wall. It really is an amazing spectacle.

Here’s the highlight reel…

This is my roommate Katie. And yes, we are a house divided this week as Georgia and Clemson will tee it up between the hedges this upcoming Saturday.

I mentioned that the entire facility is interactive & responsive. You walk up to an image wall, like the one pictured below, and it immediately recognizes: Jamie, Georgia fan, and these tiles, all representing UGA traditions appears before you.

Glory, glory!

Oh. My. Heart.

And since this is the Chick-fil-A Fan Experience…

Chicken + Pigskin = a winning combination!

For those of you, die-hard college football fans, this is a can’t-miss attraction right here in beautiful Atlanta, GA. And it is located conveniently in midtown near the home of the Atlanta Falcons, the Aquarium, the Georgia World Congress Center, and the World of Coca-Cola.

Check it out sometime, you won’t be sorry you did!

Oh yeah, and Gooooo Dawgs!

“I thanked the Lord for three things: fried chicken, potato salad and for the fact He had allowed me the privilege of being a Bulldog.

‘And , Dear Lord,” I prayed, “bless all those not as fortunate as I.'”
